It all begins with a MISSION.

Rainfall Ranch Rescue is a nonprofit horse rescue dedicated to giving neglected, abused, abandoned, and slaughter-bound horses a second chance at life. We believe that healing is a journey that can transform both horses and people, and we have created a place where that transformation happens every day.

Through compassionate rescue, rehabilitation, and lifelong sanctuary, we provide horses with the care, safety, and dignity they deserve. At the same time, we offer opportunities for individuals facing trauma, grief, anxiety, disability, social isolation, or other life challenges to experience the healing power of connection with horses and nature.

Our Healing Hooves program combines horsemanship, relationship-building, and personal growth in a supportive, judgment-free environment. Participants learn confidence, resilience, empathy, and trust while forming meaningful bonds with our rescue horses.

We also operate Rainfall Roots, our community garden, greenhouse, and agricultural education program. Rainfall Roots connects participants with the therapeutic benefits of gardening, environmental stewardship, healthy food production, and hands-on learning. Through planting, nurturing, and harvesting, individuals gain practical skills while experiencing the healing and restorative power of nature.

Rooted in empathy, inclusion, and community, Rainfall Ranch Rescue is committed to creating a safe and welcoming space where both horses and people can heal, grow, and thrive together.

To rescue, rehabilitate, and provide sanctuary for horses in need while fostering healing, personal growth, and community connection through equine-assisted programs, agricultural education, and meaningful experiences in nature.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Can I visit the ranch?
Yes! We offer open barn days, workshops, and volunteer orientations throughout the year. Visits are by appointment only to ensure a calm, safe space for our horses and guests. Follow us on social media or subscribe to our newsletter for event updates.

Q: What is equine-assisted therapy?
It’s a form of healing that involves guided interaction with horses—no riding necessary. Horses are incredibly intuitive and often mirror human emotions, making them powerful partners in processing grief, trauma, anxiety, or everyday stress. Our sessions focus on connection, trust, and emotional growth.

Q: Can I adopt a horse?
Yes, when the right match is found. Some horses stay with us for life due to age or health, but we do have adoption opportunities. If you’re interested, we’d love to talk and see if you might be a good fit.
